How do I block a site?

Netsweeper gives you an opportunity to block particular sites that are not blocked by your selected categories. Here is how you can set up Netsweeper to block specific sites.

      • my.yahoo.com

      • personals.yahoo.com
      • groups.yahoo.com
    2. and you only want to block one of them, specify the subdomain in the URL or address field. For Example: To block only the personals at yahoo from the profile, type in personals.yahoo.com. The other subdomains should be allowed as long as they do not get blocked by the categories.

    1. Click the "Add" button. Notice the URL is added to a list below.

How do I unblock a site?

Netsweeper gives you an opportunity to allow viewing of particular sites that are blocked by your selected categories. Here is how you can set up Netsweeper to allow viewing of specific sites.

    1. Open the URL for Christianity Online: http://filter.christianityonline.com:8080
    2. Log in with your full email address and password for the master account. Hit "Submit."

Can I stop my child from instant messaging?

This version of Netsweeper does not block the main stream instant messengers. It will, however, block instant messaging through a web page by blocking that category.

How many computers can I put Netsweeper on?

Each computer that gets online can use a filter. Remember that you can only use one computer dialed into your account at a time.

How can I limit the time my computer is used by my kids?

This version of Netsweeper does not support time limits for browsing.
